The First University of the World was Founded By A Muslim!

  Many of us Muslims know about the great women that lived during the time of RasuluAllah, such as Aisha (RA), and Fatima (RA). But, do we know about the great women who lived during the Golden Age of the Muslims? The time when Muslims were leaders in all fields of knowledge. During that time, a great women by the name of Fatima al Fihri, opened the first university in this world! It is named Al Qarawiyyin University and is still operating to this day!           Fatima al Fihri was born in modern day Tunisia. As a young girl, her family moved to Fez, Morocco. Al Qaqa Ibn Amr At Tameemi

There are many amazing Muslim commanders you have heard of over and over again. Some of them may be, Khalid bin Al Waleed, ‘Amr ibn Al ‘Aas, and Abu Ubaidah ibn al Jarrah. But, have you ever heard about an amazing Muslim commander named Al-Qa’qa’ ibn ‘Amr at Tamimi? He was one of the main commanders in the battle of al Qadisiyyah against the Persian Empire.           Not much is known about him of his early age before he became Muslim. We do know that he converted to Islam along with his tribe during the year of the delegation (year 631). Later, for a short time, he started following the false prophetess Sajah bint al Harith.
